American Museum of Natural History

DESCRIPTION

One of the world’s preeminent scientific and cultural institutions, the American Museum of Natural History has been at the forefront of public attention for almost 150 years. Renowned for its exhibitions and scientific collections, which serve as a guide to the entire planet and present a panorama of the world's diverse cultures, visitors of all ages will be enchanted by what they find inside these historic walls. Choose from three different ticket options to make the most of this cultural gem of New York.

Choose the General Admission ticket to enter and explore the many wonders of the American Museum of Natural History (which includes the world-famous dinosaur halls) You also have the option to enhance your experience by selecting the General Admission plus one of the following special exhibitions or shows. At the Butterfly Sanctuary, you will mingle with more than 500 live, free-flying tropical butterflies in an enclosed habitat that imitates their natural environment with lush vegetation and live flowering plants. We get to know our world through some, or all of our senses—sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste—but they’re just parts of a much larger puzzle. The highly experiential exhibition “Our Senses” delves into how our brains work with sensory organs to shape our perceptions and reveals how, until recently in our evolutionary history, humans have been oblivious to nature’s other crucial signals, including UV light, infrared sounds, and electrical fields. The Space Show: discover the Dark Universe in the Hayden Planetarium, celebrates the pivotal discoveries that have led us to greater knowledge of the structure and history of the universe and our place in it—and to new frontiers for exploration. To really do the Museum justice, choose the third option and receive General Admission plus access to all of the special exhibitions and shows. Whichever option you pick, you are sure to have an unforgettable day learning about the world around you. Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Languages Space Show has audio in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Portuguese.
