I had been with my wife Vanessa for 10 years, and we decided to celebrate our anniversary with a trip to Lisbon, Portugal. We had heard about the fantastic food scene, so we planned to try a little trick and eat two dinners - one early and one late.
For our first dinner, we found a small family-owned restaurant near our hotel. The welcoming hospitality was great, and we indulged in fresh seafood, grilled octopus, and a bottle of Vinho Verde. As we ate, we marveled at the beautiful view of the city skyline over the Tagus River.
After dinner, we went for a romantic stroll through the winding streets of the city, arm in arm. We talked about our dreams and aspirations, and Vanessa mentioned how much she loved the beautiful street art and murals on the walls of the buildings. We stopped to take pictures and even made some goofy poses together.
As we continued our walk, we stumbled upon a small street vendor selling hot, freshly baked Pastéis de Nata. We couldn't resist the smell of the warm custard tarts, and we devoured them on the spot. It was a perfect end to our early dinner.
After our stroll, we freshened up for our late night dinner and went to a trendy restaurant in the heart of the city. We ordered a bottle of red wine and started with a selection of cured meats and cheese. We then feasted on grilled octopus, garlic prawns, and a decadent steak.
As we ate, we talked about our future together and reminisced about our favorite moments from the past 7 years. We laughed and joked and felt grateful for the love we shared.
But suddenly, in the middle of our late night dinner, a group of street musicians came into the restaurant, playing an upbeat song. Being music lovers, we jumped up and started dancing to the beat. Other diners joined in, and soon the whole restaurant was dancing together.
Our late night dinner turned into a dance party, and we didn't want it to end. We danced and laughed until the wee hours of the morning, feeling alive and in love.
The night had been unforgettable - the food, the romantic stroll, and the unexpected dance party. We knew that our two dinners in Lisbon would be one of our favorite memories together. And as we fell asleep that night, we knew we had many more adventures to come.
