Chipinque Ecological Parkis located in the Sierra Madre Oriental, within the boundaries of the Cumbres de Monterrey and we will have the opportunity to walk through its spectacular forest. The park's altitude varies between 730 and 2,200 metres above sea level. Both flora and fauna are representative of the region: the vegetation ranges from desert scrub to pine-oak forest. The average annual temperature is 21 degrees Celsius making for an excellent climate. This park, located so close to the city of Monterrey, is an important natural landscape for this region. Attractions include an interactive museum with the history of the park, a butterfly zoo and an insectarium. Activities include an open air gym, cycling, hiking (more than 50 miles of natural trails marked easy, moderate and difficult) and watching. Thanks to the type of vegetation this park is the natural habitat of native species of birds and butterflies that can be watched during excursions in the forest. Guided trails help visitors learn more on these species.
