Day 1
The Teotihuacan Pyramids and the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe
Once you’ve been picked up from your hotel, we will leave Mexico City behind and make our way to the ruins of Teotihuacan, also known as the City of Gods. At its peak during the first millennium, this was once one of the biggest cities in America, with more than 100,000 habitants. With your local guide, you will be able to explore the magnificent pyramids, Sun and Moon, the Avenue of the Dead, the Temple of the Feathered Serpent and the Temple of the Butterflies.
Later, we make our way to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the most visited religious spot in all of Latin America. It was constructed in 1531 after a local farmer had a vision of a girl surrounded by light, asking to him to build her a church in her honor. She identified herself as the Virgin Mary and she miraculously left an image of herself on the farmer’s cloak. The Basilica is a marvelous example of Spanish art from the Baroque period and is one of the most sacred and important sights for Catholics all over the world.

Guided Tour in Mexico City
Enjoy a panoramic journey by car around the city, where you may see all the iconic monuments such as the Angel of Independence, Diana the Huntress Fountain, the National Palace, the Cathedral and much more! Travel for over 12 kilometres to the astonishing Paseo de la Reforma, a street full of monuments of national Mexican heroes like the Aztec emperor Cuauhtémoc, Christopher Columbus and the sensational monument of the Angel of Independence. From here, we continue onto the Avenida Juárez, with its original combination of historic and modern buildings, until we get to the grand art piece from the Art Nouveau movement, the Palacio de Bellas Artes. Observe in awe at the beauty and intricity of the Casa de los Azulejos, a palace constructed in the 18th Century with a façade decorated entirely by blue and white tiles.
Contemplate the outstanding, famous buildings around you such as the General Post Office and the Bank of Mexico, whilst on the way to an enormous square called Zócalo, which proudly flies an enormous Mexican flag. The tour then visits the National Palace from the Barroque period, covered in its famous frescoes painted by the famously renowned artist Diego Rivera, and then the magnificent Metropolitan Cathedral.
